She liked the Graduation Teddy Amigurumi!

The sweet and beautiful, Stephanie, posted another Crochet Corner on her blog, All About Ami. :) This time it is her Graduation Teddy. In case you don't know, Crochet Corner, is where she posts pics of other people's ami that they have made using her patterns. I think it is a very cute idea. :)

I'm excited because she featured both my Graduation Cupcake Bear Ami and the full size Graduation Teddy. :D If you haven't checked out her blog, you gotta! It's so cute and has tons of adorable free patterns for ami! There are tons of eye candy too because her husband takes beautiful photos. :) Have fun!

Thanks again for the cute pattern and featuring my bears, Stephanie! :)

Note: both girls loved their gifts! :) It really makes me happy when people are so appreciative of all the hard work that goes into a gift that is handmade. :)

Memorial Day

Memorial Day was originally a day of remembrance for those who lost their lives during the Civil War. I just want to say we remember all of you who have served this country and given your lives for our freedom. Thank you. And thank you to your family and loved ones as well for their sacrifice.

Happy Memorial Day to all the men and women who are currently serving as well. Thank you all!!

God Bless our Armed Forces

Thank you!!! We remember...

Graduation Teddy Amigurumi

A recently made friend just graduated with a Doctorate of Nursing. What does a doctor need? A teddy bear, of course. :)...Ok, it just came to my attention that this Doctor loves pink and my friend's finance's daughter doesn't like pink but is good with brown so that bears have switched owners. :)

I used Stephanie's very cute free Graduation Teddy pattern. I didn't change anything on her pattern (O.o) except the colors of the appendages. I also added poly pellets to the body for more weight and part of a toilet paper roll to the inside of the bottom of the graduation cap to give it more body. :)

I love his cute little bootie. :)

Yarn: Lion Brand Vanna's Choice in Oatmeal and Chocolate
3.75mm crochet hook
Safety eyes: 12mm animal eyes
Muzzle: Brown felt and tan embroidery floss
Poly pellets and Nature-fill Polyfill

Graduation cap:
Yarn: Lion Bran Vanna's Choice in "Black"
Stuff black felt
Toilet paper cardboard roll

Congratulations to all those who are Graduating this year!!! Good Job! It's the end of a chapter in your education, now to start the next chapter! :) Party while you can! :)

Stephanie, the sweet designer of the pattern, commented that she really liked the variegated yarn I used. Just as I was responding back that the color of the yarn is called Oatmeal, I decided to name the bear Oatmeal. So, his name is now officially, Oatmeal! :)

Armed Forces Day

I just want to salute all the Military wives, husbands, and family who are just as critical to our defense because they allow our solider to do their job properly.

Thank you all for doing your job to the best of your ability! :)

Graduation Cupcake Bear Amigurumi

Graduation is around the corner so I thought I would whip this little guy up for a friend. :) I used Stephanie's very cute free pattern, Mini Cupcake Bear, and just added the graduation cap. :)

I sometimes wonder if in the future, all books will be on kindles or laptops. It would lessen back problems. :) Although, I have a few friends that still love the feel and smell of an actual book. :)

Yarn: Caron's Simply Soft in Soft Pink
3.25mm Crochet hook
Safety Eyes: 9mm
Muzzle: white felt and black embroidery floss
Bottom: Cupcake liner and Poly Pellets (for weight)
Graduation Cap: Black felt, toilet paper roll, black button, and white embroidery floss

I think all graduates should remember that learning is a lifelong process. Like laundry and dishes, it will never end. :)

Free Bunny Rabbit Amigurumi Crochet Patterns (Part 2)

Here are the other free amigurumi crochet bunny patterns that I have found. I promised you guys some larger bunnies with long arms and legs in part 1 so here they are. I have also included some other bunny patterns that I thought were nice or cute. :)

This beautiful bunny is Miss Mew from Drops Design.

Flopsy Bunny Toy

This bunny is Flopsy from Red Heart yarn. If you are going to give it to a child, then I would use safety eyes and sew everything firmly, not glue.

This Lavender Bunny is from Rheatheylia.

From Caron Yarn is this One Skein Bunny if you use their One Pound yarn.

Now for some other cute bunny patterns I have found. :)

Here is Easter Marshmallow Bunnies from Whiskers & Wool.

Here is Bunny Pencil Holders from Craft Passion. These Asian yogurt drinks are now popping up in regular supermarkets too.

Here is a cute Love Bunny pattern form Crochet N Play Designs.

And Lastly...

Image of Amigurumi Bunny Wedding Cake Topper

From Lion Brand Yarn, the cutest Amigurumi Bunny Wedding Cake Topper I've come across. :)

Have fun and make more bunnies! :)

Happy Mother's Day

For my present this year, I made a digital scrapbook and then had it printed and bound. The card is a really cute pop up. :) I am happy to say that she loved it! :)

Steampunk Hat hair clip

I made a surprise for my favorite Bunny. I hope she will honor me by wearing it to MobiCon. :) And if I am really good, she will send me a picture of her wearing it. hehe

I made this basic hat with this really cute free crochet pattern. I added a white band but wanted to dress it up. :) So I made this 5 min flower with this free pattern. On the inside, I added cardboard from an empty grits box and toilet paper roll and some polyfill to give the hat structure.

It was hard but I found a blue button that matched the color of the yarn. Blue is so varied that if it is too purple or too green, it just doesn't go well together. I also wanted to hint at Steampunk so I added this washer.

The flower is pinned on with a safety pin so she can move it where ever she likes. :)

I added 2 hair clips so that the hat doesn't wobble around. You can't see it because it is hidden by the black felt but I hot glued on a little card board to connect the two hair clips so that you can push them both open at the same time.

Caron Simply Soft Yarn in Celestial, White, and Soft Blue
3.25mm Crochet hook
Lock Washer External Tooth SAE #410
(couldn't read the size)
Cardboard and Toilet paper roll

I also tried to crochet this cute free rose pattern but it was too big.

Good Luck with the booth at MobiCon! I hope all the cute crafts made by my friends and me sell. :)

Crafts for Charity

My friend had a yard sale to raise money for their charity trip to El Salvador. They are helping build homes for the poor. I decided to help by adding some of my crafts and working the yard sale. :) It was very hard work and I am very tired but it was worth it for friends and charity. :)

The purple flower was made using this free easy pattern.
The flower petals was not coming together so I used a figure eight motion to tighten up the bottom of the petals from the back.

I modified that pattern a little to get the smaller tan flower on top:
Into a magic ring - 7sc
chain 6 then sl st into the next sc - around
into each c6 spot (aka petal) sc hdc 5dc ch2 5dc hdc sc

Hook size used: 4.25mm
Yarn used: Vanna's Choice

This is the rose that I had made for my little top hat. It didn't work for the hat but it works well for a little hair clip.

This is a simple heart/bow bracelet that was too large for me but it fit as an anklet. :)

This is how I displayed the jewelry. To make it more professional, next time I would use cardstock instead of index cards and print on the name.

This heart pendant was really easy and I strung it on some ribbon. I think it would've made a great Mother's Day gift. :)

Someone had donated a bag of costume jewelry. Sadly all of them were broken or missing pieces but it was cool to look at and would be great in the hands of an imaginative crafter. :)

Lastly, I baked cupcakes. I added instant coffee to both the cake and the frosting and it turned out well. :)
